Chris' birthday

is today...

i called her this afternoon to wish her my happiest "happy birfday".

i took her last Friday night to see the Kids In The Hall live onstage. they were brilliant and it was so much fun to hear her laugh and laugh and laugh. i laughed so hard the guy in front of me was becoming annoyed with my loud obnoxious laugh, so i covered my mouth with both hands and giggled for the rest of the show.

the five of them were all onstage at the same time performing a professor sketch. Kevin started busting up...Dave caught it...and then...they ALL caught the giggle bug. the sketch broke down for a good five minutes, and the audience was laid OUT!!

Scott did a "Buddy" sketch right off the bat, Mark pulled off the "Chicken Lady" which was BRILLIANT, and they closed the show with the head-crusher. an all-around great time.

from wikipedia, some of the sketches were the same ones used during their "Just For Laughs" show...

**Bruce and Mark as salesmen promoting a device which can siphon fat from the American gut and use it to power SUVs.
**Dave and Kevin get drunk; Dave tells Kevin he has created a time machine with which he can "defeat last call."
Note: the "time machine" concept was used two other times during the show, to great comedic effect - the second featured Dave traveling back in time to receive oral sex from his wife (Bruce) (she would only perform the act on his birthday), and the third revolved around Dave traveling back in time to kill Hitler, but instead accidentally inspiring his hatred for Jews
**Hateful baby
**Kevin performing a song in the three-chord structure which he has not finished writing as of the show
**Dave and Kevin fighting over an imaginary girlfriend. (i got the premise of this sketch about 1 minute before the rest of the audience...and burst out laughing)
**Relationship woes amongst a gay couple (Dave and Scott) are placated with the help of another married same-sex couple known as Peter and the Professor (Kevin and Mark).
**Superdrunk: a superhero who stops crimes by drinking (played by Bruce), assisted by his trust sidekick, the bartender (Dave).
and...
**Mr. Tyzik, the headcrusher, crushing the other four Kids' heads (as stated above).

KITH are Chris' favorite comedians. i was so happy to be able to treat her to this show ... to do something special for her birthday!

conscious creation

i am learning new ways to think about myself and my surroundings...dismissing thoughts of separate and identification with my thoughts...disowning the stuff my ego tells me. it is AMAZING STUFF!

i can imagine how poorly i would be dealing with the fact that Boris is on the other side of the world for heaven knows how long. i do know i have allowed myself to cry, to feel the sadness, and to let it go. the night of the realization i wouldn't be able to see him before he left...in the midst of the crying and sadness, i was able to hear a voice tell me i needed to be still. i needed to put some space around the situation and what i was feeling and look at it from the outside. i then let it go. not what i've done in the past, which has always been to compartmentalize it (whatever IT was) and tell myself i'd deal with it later (which i, of course, never did). i am not saying i have mastered this, because as i write this, the sadness rolls over me, but i haven't felt it as a constant companion. he was much more a part of my life and my thought patterns than i ever expected. and i am grateful for that realization, and much more grateful for the time we had together. i really do love him, and i really do miss him.

in the middle of all of this, i find great stuff in my inbox:

*If you can't speak to your friends and loved ones in a voice they can hear, then simply empathize, detach, and bless. Whatever you do - do not engage in the fear.

*If you cannot stop yourself from worrying about your own situation, then find a confident, spiritual friend (or coach) and ask them to TALK you up the vibrational ladder, now. (Even sooner if possible!)

*If you cannot help but feel frightened when you watch the news, then stop watching the news.

*If you do not know how to boost your consciousness to the level of confident optimism and absolute certainty (the ingredients for powerful conscious creation), then read everything you can about how to manifest and live intentionally while putting down everything that suggests you do not have a choice.

*If you find yourself in an argument over your beliefs, bless your opponent, send them love and take your conversation to a different level in your head and in your heart, not through your words.

*If you really want to consciously create the most prosperous and harmonious time that our world has ever seen, then step-up to that consciousness by claiming it now! (Notice I didn't say want it, or ask for it - I said - Claim it!)

if i want ...whatEVER i want...don't want it -- CLAIM IT!! i LOVE this!!
